How much do you really walk?
“We were out for ages today” — but how many minutes was it? The walk diary shows it in black and white: today, this week and this month, with a chart of the last 8 weeks. It is easier to notice that walks got shorter in winter or during a hot week. How much exercise your dog needs depends on its breed, age and health — if in doubt, ask your vet.
How to track a walk
- In the “Walks” menu tap “Start a walk” and choose who is going — you can pick several animals at once.
- Tap Start. FeliCan reads your phone's GPS position and draws the route on the map live; you see the time, distance and pace. You can pause and resume the walk.
- When you are back, finish the walk — it is saved in the history of every animal that came along, together with the route map.
Tracking works while the page is open: FeliCan asks the browser to keep the screen on. If you refresh the page by accident, the unfinished walk comes back. After saving we calculate the distance again and skip sudden GPS “jumps” that happen between tall buildings or in a forest.
A walk without your phone
Phone left at home, or someone else took the dog out? Add the walk by hand: date, time, duration in minutes and, if you know them, kilometres and a note.
Daily goal and statistics
Set a daily goal in minutes for each animal. On the “Walks” page you see how much of the goal is done, plus a summary of the day, the week and the month and a chart of the last 8 weeks. The history lists recent walks, and each one opens with its route map.
Favourite places on the map
In the “Places” menu you mark dog runs, meadows and parks on an OpenStreetMap map. For each place you save its features — fenced, off-leash, water, lighting, shade, lots of dogs — and a note. Places are private by default; if you want, share them on the common map, where other signed-in owners see them without your details.
Privacy
Walk routes are always private — only the people who look after the animal with you can see them. We do not track your location in the background: the position is read only while you track a walk with the page open, and the “Where am I” button on the places map works only in your browser and saves nothing.
Everything about your dog in one place
Walks are part of the free FeliCan account — next to vaccinations with reminders, weight, documents, photos and the pet journal. No ads, no limit of animals, right in your phone's browser.
